Ok, so you know the green sock I was working on? Yeah, you know the one. The one that was too small that I frogged? Well, I cast on again, and worked the short row toes only to realize.... Yep, you guess it. It was too big. And no, I did not knit a swatch! Again. So, after that frustration, I knit a swatch, did the math, cast on AGAIN and have been happily knitting away, knowing it's going to fit just fine only to realize.... I DON'T HAVE THE REQUIRED NUMBER OF STITCHES FOR THE PATTERN!!! I forgot that I needed a multiple of ten. No wonder my sock was always too big or too small. I could knit the pattern on the instep in the last multiple of ten and use the extra stitches to balance, but it would be just the very top portion of the foot, which would look funny. And then when I get to the leg, I still won't have the right number. If I increase or decrease (both by 5 stitches) it will be too big or too small. Gah!
I guess I need a good lace stitch pattern that's a multiple of 5.
