A few weeks ago, I bought a matching binder and notebook for this very purpose. I've been using the notebook, but not the binder.

I use the notebook to write my notes as I knit: row counts, cast on numbers, gauge, special instructions or changes I make to the pattern, etc.
The binder was to keep a record of my projects and patterns.
Today, I finally put it together with a few of my projects.

I typed up on a table the patterns with my notes. Most are from patterns I found on the web, so links are provided. One is my own written pattern (Candle Socks) so I wrote that out as best as I could. I plan on going back and writing out a publish-presentable pattern to submit to Knitty or MagKnits in the near future.

I attached the ball bands and yarn scraps that I've saved for this very purpose.
In the paper protectors, I tore out and slipped in the original notes, just in case.

I also have a collection of patterns.
I also have a notebook of graph paper I will use when charting out patterns, but since I have not done that yet, they are not included. I do have some plans for patterns that will need charting out.
I still need dividers to sort out the sections, but they are in a box somewhere with my teaching supplies, and I'm not in the mood to go dig them out, nor do I want to go out and buy some when I know I have TONS somewhere.
I have some other projects (UFOs) that I have not included, since I want to do this after the project is finished. Meanwhile, I keep the on-going project ball bands in the lil pocket of my notebook.

Neat Huh?
Once I'm on Ravelry, it will be an easy transition, after I photograph my stash and catalog my needles. I'm so happy!!

Wow! That is really something to be proud of. I'm too lazy for all that...I'm just waiting for Ravelry.
