I read this article about Wal-Mart
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20481508/page/2/
I never shopped at Wal-Mart, there was never one near me for one, and even if there was, I was against the mega-corp and boycotted it. And yet, I can totally sympathize with families that depend on Wal-Mart, it's discount items, the layaway program, and it's fabric. When you live in a rural community and have a small income, you don't have a lot of options. It's frustrating to think that a mega-corp like WM, which already has a negative reputation in a lot of people's minds, would do something to make themselves look even worse, and hurt the loyal customers who have depended and stood-by WM all this time.
It reminds me of that oh-so-familiar middle school scenario where Kid A wants so badly to be popular and make friends with a different crowd, that same crowd that makes fun of them, that they dis and back-stab their best friend, Kid B, that same best friend who's stood by them and supported them when they were being made fun of. In the movies and television, that different crowd always turns out to be soooo not worth it and they are never as good or loyal as Kid B, and as soon as Kid A realizes that they gave up the best friend he/she ever had, Kid B finds new friends who appreciate her/him. And Kid A is left all alone.
Don't Shop Wal-Mart!
