Latest Yarny projects

So, after a week at my new job, I'm overwhelmed and exhausted. Monday is almost here! Ack!

Anyway, I'm working on some new projects, some of which are Christmas gifts..... Shhhhhh

I just started this! :

I'm writing the sock pattern myself. My first lace sock!I found the Candle stitch instructions in my stitch dictionary, beat myself with mathematical calculations until I figured out how much I needed to cast on, and how many stitches on each needle....and then....I realized the "candle" like flame thing would be upside down if I started from the cuff, so I had to quickly learn how to knit toe-up socks. So once I had that down, I was off!!

Here's the yarn. It's Paton's Grace, a mercerized cotton. It's a cheaper yarn, I know, but so pretty and the cotton shows off the stitch pattern nicely. Feels sooooo nice too. I'm using 2.25mm dpns with a gauge of 7.5 stitches per inch in st st.

I'm also working on this sock as well.

An easy wash wool from Universal Yarns. Feels soft and cuddly. The colors look much better in person. I have another pair I plan on making in the same yarn but in a different colorway. (Green). On 2.75mm dpns.

Here's the back to the Sesame cardigan I'm working on.

The pattern is from Mag Knits. I chose to do it in one color than in stripes, though I have plans for a second in stripes but within the same family. Maybe green and light green.

And of course, here's how Drizzt looks now.

Clothes still need work, as well as some other things, but he's chillin' while I work on my Christmas gifts.

I have a callus on my finger. Ouch.

I love the socks, and the color is fantastic. Who says you can't use cheapy yarn?? I'm going to have to hunt some down relatively soon
