Long Time No Post

Alpaca Shawl
Projects February 2009 027
Pattern: Textured Shawl Recipe
Yarn: Blue Sky Alpaca Sport in Smoke (3 skeins)
Needles: US 8
This was quick, easy, and so very lovely. The yarn is a dream. It's a little small, but functions just fine. I do still have three extra skeins though, for something else, perhaps? I plan on making another one, a bit bigger in the red Dolce I bought at Nana's. So luscious!

I also "snagged" yarn to make the Bubble Wrap from the Spring Interweave Knits. It was on sale and boy did I get a great deal! Thanks, Tricia! Again, I love the rich red. So much red lately.

Speaking of reds, as for the St. Brigid, I'm about to start the fifth repeat. I think I may only do seven repeats for the back before shaping the shoulders. I think eight might be too long for me. We'll measure when we get there.

It's moving along though, and fun to do. Progress has slowed however since I have started the Feb Lady Sweater. I bought the yarn for this right after I saw KniftyRed's Lady, but I had not yet cast on. I imagine this will go quickly though too.

And yeah, I know the photo's are crappy, but it's just been too damn cold to take pictures outside!!

Oh, and in case you were wondering, the wedding planning has finally begun. We have a date set, but I'm not willing to publicize that on this blog. It will be in October though, so yeah, I have to bust my hump to get things done. We have a small budget, however, so it won't be this big fancy thing, but I want to do all that I can to make it tasteful and fun for my guests, while also reflecting a bit of our personalities.
Meeting with reception hall manager and possible caterer tomorrow. Whew!!
