"I do believe that I would enjoy a hat crafted by the lovely Linda"

So, after more than six months on the needles, I finally completed this vest.
I had some button up shirts that were just a little too snug and the buttons gaped when I sat down. I wanted to be able to wear a vest over my shirts so I could still get use out of them.
Since then, I've lost ten pounds, so the shirts are not really a problem anymore, but the vest sure is cute. Keeps me warm too.

I really like the color changes in the Paint Box yarn. It's not Noro, but works pretty similarly. I even have enough left to make one of the ever popular Noro Striped Scarves.
I printed this pattern days before MagKnits went kaput. It's still available however on the designer's blog.

Pattern: Blush by Kessa Tay Anlin
Yarn: Cascade 220 and Paint Box by Knit One Crochet Too

I'm finally making a Koolhas hat too. Eric has this buddy at work who is also a bodybuilder and a bouncer at clubs in the city. He's a real sweetie. I'm not sure if it's his Nigerian upbringing or just his personality, but he speaks always speaks very formally and politely (Eric loves to imitate him). I only met him once, but we have this ongoing "flirtation" via Eric, (it's a long story) and he has hinted for several months now that he'd love a hat. Since he's been giving me workout tips and provided me with some discounted vitamins and supplements from the vitamin shop he also works at part time, to support my weightloss, I decided I owed him one. I know, I know, I said I'd not gift knit for a while, but the hat won't take long at all. He's always stealing Eric's grey hat and wearing it around the office and Eric joking complains that Terfa gets his head grease all over it (he's bald). I think the hat will look great on his shiny black pate :P

It works up quickly but I find the numerous "cables" tedious.

I knit my swatch for St. Brigid. I'm very excited to cast on for this tomorrow for the knitalong. It's going to be beautiful. I'm thrilled about this red too!

It looks pinkish in this picture, but is actually a brighter warmer red with yellow heathers. It's called Flame, but looks like a lovely cherry red in the sunlight. In the shop, I was looking for color options, and my eyes kept steering back to this one. Red is my favorite color and I have yet to have made a sweater in it! Hardly anything in fact! Which is just wrong.

What a lovely finished vest! It fits you perfectly and great job on the weightloss.

Now that red for your St. Brigid is going to look stunning. I can't wait to see it in person.
