I sewed the legs on my giraffe today. I kept staring at it because it reminded me of something. And then it hit me!
Eugene the Jeep! From Popeye!
There was a weird kid at school who we called, "Jeep Jeep" because he looked like this character, and he chased all the girls and tried to lick them. He continued to do this even in high school. I hope I finish more parts to this giraffe so he starts to resemble a giraffe and not some demented magical alien or African critter from Popeye. *shudders* I DO have to give this to my sister/nephew, you know!?

At first I read that as "I shaved the legs on my giraffe today..."... and I thought, wow, what have I been missing out on? LOL!
I'm new to your blog and admired your wedding shawl. It's BEAUTIFUL. My son is getting married next year and I would love to make one for his fiancee. Can you tell me where you found the pattern?
